Attic Space is a proposal for the 2025 Bethel Woods Art & Architecture Festival that reimagines one of the most overlooked parts of the suburban house: the attic. Inspired by the complex roofscapes and hidden truss structures found above millions of American homes, the installation transforms these typically unused spaces into an interactive environment. Three prefabricated truss profiles create a framework that visitors can inhabit and reshape using large fabric-filled noodles, which can be arranged as seating, shading, or spatial dividers. By celebrating the eccentric geometry and overlooked potential of the attic, the project invites visitors to engage with a familiar yet often unseen architectural space.
